2030 Strategic Plan Update | Follow Our Progress
Dear UVA Health Colleagues,
As mentioned in last week’s town hall meeting, I am truly inspired to see so many exceptionally dedicated people come together across UVA Health to meet the challenge of another COVID-19 surge in our community. While we remain vigilant and focused on the day-to-day operational needs of our COVID response, we are also keeping an eye towards the future to ensure that we emerge from the crisis with a clear roadmap that allows the organization to thrive and grow across all of our mission areas (clinical / patient care, community / health equity, education and research) in the years ahead. To that end, I am delighted to share three important updates pertaining to our strategic planning efforts.
- Our internal Strategic Planning website just launched, enabling everyone at UVA Health to follow our progress: https://strategy.uvahs.org
- Our four strategic planning work groups have formed and will be led by the following eight exceptional co-chairs (note: click on the links below to see the members for each work group):
- Clinical/Patient Care co-chairs: Kirsten Greene, MD, and Mike Valentine, MD*
- Community & Health Equity co-chairs: Tracy Downs, MD, and Mesha Jones, RN
- Education co-chairs: Susan Kirk, MD, and Clareen Wiencek, RN, PhD
- Research co-chairs: Karen Johnston, MD, and Harry Sontheimer, PhD
*Note: As we look to include long-term ambulatory planning in our long-term vision, we will also be forming an ambulatory strategy sub-committee soon.
- The UVA Health Strategic Planning Office is delighted to welcome David Stebbins, MBA, as our new Director of Health System Strategy. We had a very strong group of candidates from across the country interested in this position and Dave distinguished himself throughout the search process in both his deep expertise and strong passion for UVA Health. He joins the team with extensive system experience, having spent the past seven years with UVA Physicians Group (UPG) in a variety of roles. Most recently, he served as Director of Business Development and Northern Operations where he worked closely with our clinical departments, service line leaders and external partners to expand the clinical footprint of UVA Health across the Commonwealth. His valuable experience in the expansion of clinical services in the northern markets will play a significant role as we expand our clinical offerings in Culpeper, Prince William County and Haymarket.
Finally, I would like to personally thank each of you for your extraordinary hard work and dedication throughout these unprecedented times and your continued support of our strategic planning efforts. I am inspired daily by the many comments coming in from all of you and the communities we serve to help shape our “One Future Together”.
With optimism,
Jason Lineen, MBA
Chief Strategy Officer
