31 Photos | UVA Health ASPIRE Day: Showing Our Values Some Love
On Tuesday, Feb. 14, team members were invited to have a conversation about our new mission statement and ASPIRE values. UVA Health leadership hosted tables in the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, West Complex, University Hospital, Orthopedic Center Ivy Road, and Battle Building where they handed out Valentine’s Day conversation hearts candies and ASPIRE values cards.
Team members spoke directly to our leaders about our mission, vision, and values, how together we can make UVA Health the best place to work, and anything else that was on their mind.
The day was such a success, this is going to become an annual event. Valentine's Day has been declared "UVA Health ASPIRE Day," a day when we will "show our values some love" and renew our engagement with them.
Here's what the day looked like, by the numbers:
- 7,000 “Let’s Have a Conversation” boxes of candy hearts were distributed, for a total of 105,000 conversation hearts. The candies were printed with phrases like:
- Ur Kind, Way 2 Go
- Be You, You’re GR8T
- ASPIRE
- 7,000 wallet-size mission, vision, and values cards were distributed.
- 51 boxes were packaged and delivered to ambulatory clinics.
- 36 leaders engaged with team members at multiple locations.
- 4 mission, vision, and values boards became papered with team-member reflections.
- Hundreds of conversations with team members — and an equal number of smiling team-member faces!
- Lots of friendly leadership competition (i.e., best “engagement” line, greatest number of team members engaged, highest number of ASPIRE stickers posted).
If you couldn't attend, you can still participate virtually! Please answer the following question: "How do you live by our values every day?" and post your answer on the interactive Kudoboard.
Here are a few photos from the day's event.
It would be nice to have a sister event happening in the clinical lab building (the Core lab).
