Yolanda Polintan, Charito Seguerra, Lynn Gallardo, Patty Mae Evangelista, and Marie Mendoza (retired) have an incredible story. They were all born in the Philippines and moved to New York City as young professionals to pursue nursing careers. Alone in an unfamiliar place, they found each other and became best friends. After a few years in New York, they started looking for a family-friendly city to raise their children. One by one, all five nurses moved their families to Charlottesville to settle down and work at UVA. Now 20 years later, they share their journey in their own words.
