We’re Excited.
The Telemedicine Team asked for your feedback to help shape future Virtual Visit platform offerings. In response, we are excited to launch Zoom for Epic on Oct. 13, bringing you the top features you asked for, such as the virtual waiting room, patient tech support, screen sharing, and multi-party visits.
A Whole New Virtual Visit Patient Experience
With Epic-Integrated Zoom, patients will enjoy a seamless online check-in and care experience at every step of the visit. Plus, a new dedicated helpdesk for Zoom offers a direct, 24/7 resource for patients and the clinical team.
Before Checking In:
- eUpdate empowers our patients to ensure their records such as allergies, medication lists, and insurance information is accurate.
Check-In:
- With Zoom, there is no download requirement for our patients. Patients can join their Zoom visit directly from UVA Health MyChart, or with the meeting link shared via email (text coming soon).
- Once connected, patients will enter the new customizable virtual waiting room.
- Need to ask a question? Use the chat feature in the virtual waiting room before the appointment begins to help make sure our patients are ready for their clinician.
Joining the Virtual Visit:
- Clinicians join their patients by launching Zoom directly from the Rooming tab in Epic.
During the Virtual Visit:
- Need to include another member of the patient care team? With Zoom, improved care coordination is possible. Multiparty visits enable family members or additional care team members to join the visit.
- Enjoy a flexible workspace. Launch the Zoom visit on a dual monitor, phone or iPad, and continue to document during the visit with the patient chart still on your main screen.
- Share your screen, or invite your patient to. Zoom offers the flexibility you need.
- Stay connected with Zoom—it is optimized for slower internet speeds.
