A UVA Health specialist and his team who’ve been keeping a close eye on a patient for more than a decade, are sharing the inspirational journey. Pediatric cardiologist George McDaniel, MD, has been taking care of Olivia Goodman since she was born 13 years ago with a congenital heart block — a lifelong condition. She undergoes major surgery every several years to receive a new pacemaker. Her mom hails UVA Health Children’s culture as “amazing.” And Olivia dives deep to make her own dreams come true.
