Update #5: Weather Awareness for Jan. 6-7 — Resuming Operations
(Posted Monday, Jan. 6, at 5:01 p.m.)
UVA Health Team Members,
Thank you for your patience and dedication as we navigate the impacts of the winter weather. Currently, the Winter Storm Warning issued by National Weather Service (NWS) remains in effect until 1am Tuesday. While there was a break in precipitation this afternoon, a second round of snow is likely late this afternoon and evening before precipitation ends tonight. Please see important information below regarding parking information for tomorrow morning and afternoon and team member accommodations this evening.
Non-designated Team Members. If you are a non-designated team member, please plan to work remotely on Tuesday if you are able.
Ambulatory Operations. To view Tuesday’s opening times for each clinic, visit our Status Board, which will be updated this afternoon by 5:30 pm.
Shuttle Service and Parking. At this time, UTS Blue Line will be operating on a modified schedule beginning at 6 am until 8 pm. There will be no shuttle service to Scott Stadium. To accommodate parking for our ambulatory patients, it is critical that as many spaces as possible remain vacant in our 11th Street and Lee Street garages. To support this, please note the following:
- If you are arriving by 6 am, please park in the South Garage.
- If you are arriving between 6 am and 8 am, please park at the Emmet/Ivy Garage.
- If you are arriving after 8 am, please park at the JPJ Parking Garage.
Orientation Update. Central Clinical Orientation has been shifted to a virtual offering tomorrow from 8:30-11:30 am for those who typically attend on Tuesday. There will be a virtual Meet and Greet for Clinician 1 nurses beginning immediately after the Central Clinical Orientation Session (using the same Webex link). Reference the Central Clinical Orientation Grid if there is a question about attendance requirements. Please continue to communicate with your team members for time card completion. Team members have been provided the link for tomorrow’s session to their personal emails. Updates are posted to the Nursing Center for Excellence Orientation Website. Please continue to direct team members there for updates and responsibilities. They may email Deanna Pototschnik with any further questions.
Accommodations. Hospitality and Support Services team will be offering accommodations for team members who need to stay at the University Medical Center on Monday night. Space will be available for any team member seeking accommodations. As of this time, the Welcome Team has begun supporting accommodations at the Main Lobby Information Desk.
