‘Remarkable Dedication’: UVA Health University Medical Center FY25 Q3 Patient Experience Award Winners

Each quarter, the UVA Health University Medical Center Patient Experience Office honors two departments per survey service type: Top Performer and Most Improved. These awards celebrate exceptional commitment to enhancing the patient experience through compassionate care and meaningful connection — key elements in building trust and promoting overall well-being.

The Patient Experience Office delivered the awards, along with congratulations and some treats, to the winning teams. We commend this quarter’s winners for their remarkable dedication and continuous efforts to deliver an exceptional patient experience!

Zions Cardiology exceeded its fiscal year targets for “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Likelihood of Recommending,” leading with a remarkable 6.7-point combined variance — an outstanding demonstration of patient-centered excellence.

Maternal and Fetal Medicine Clinic

Maternal and Fetal Medicine Clinic demonstrated exceptional progress, leading with a stellar 8.3-point improvement from Q2 to Q3 in the key metrics “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Likelihood of Recommending.” This meaningful advancement reflects the team's dedication to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that enhances every aspect of the patient experience.

Mobile Mammography exceeded its fiscal year targets in “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Likelihood of Recommending” — earning the highest combined variance to goal across its service area with an outstanding 5.8 points. This achievement highlights the team's unwavering commitment to accessible, compassionate care — significantly enriching the patient experience for the communities they serve.

Primary Care EEG (electroencephalogram) demonstrated remarkable growth this quarter with a 12.6-point improvement in the key metrics “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Likelihood of Recommending.” This significant advancement reflects the team's dedication to continuous improvement and their vital role in delivering a more connected, reassuring, and patient-centered care experience.

Orthopedic Center Ivy Road (OCIR) Periop

OCIR Periop not only exceeded its fiscal year goals for “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Rate Facility 0–10” — but also achieved the highest combined variance to goal by a remarkable 7.8 points —highlighting their dedication to seamless collaboration and exceptional service, and directly contributing to an enhanced patient experience and greater trust in their care.

Electrophysiology achieved the highest combined variance from the prior quarter for both key metrics —“Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Rate Facility 0–10”— with an exceptional 6-point improvement. Emergency Department surpassed its fiscal year goals for “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Overall Experience,” but also achieved a remarkable 4-point combined variance to goal. This achievement reflects their commitment to delivering high quality care and strengthening the patient experience through collaboration, efficiency, and compassionate service.

JPA Dentistry exceeded its fiscal year goals for “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Likelihood of Recommending” — securing the highest combined variance to goal by an impressive 6.4 points. This remarkable achievement highlights their dedication to fostering positive patient relationships and enhancing the overall dental experience through collaboration and outstanding care.

Northridge Adult Psychiatry 

Northridge Adult Psychiatry demonstrated exceptional progress by achieving the highest combined variance from the prior quarter for key metrics “Staff Work Together to Care for You” and “Overall Grand Mean” by an impressive 4.4 points. This outstanding performance reflects steadfast commitment to fostering a collaborative and compassionate environment — directly contributing to an enhanced patient experience and strengthened trust in their care.
