Fern Hauck, MD, Receives Maurice Wood Award for Lifetime Contribution to Primary Care Research

The North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG) has selected Fern Hauck, MD, MS, professor of family medicine and public health sciences at the UVA School of Medicine and director of the UVA International Family Medicine Clinic, as the recipient of the 2025 Maurice Wood Award for Lifetime Contribution to Primary Care Research.

Dr. Hauck was recognized for the remarkable breadth and impact of her contributions to primary care, including her scholarly work, influential publications, visionary leadership, and mentoring. She was chosen from a group of international researchers across many professional fields and scientific disciplines.

NAPCRG is the world’s largest organization devoted to research in family medicine, primary care and related fields, including epidemiology, behavioral sciences, and health services research. Dr. Hauck received the Maurice Wood Award in late November at the NAPCRG Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.
