Signage Upgrade on Grounds Marks Significant Step Toward a Unified Brand

As our health system has evolved and expanded over the years, our brand identity has been reimagined to best represent our vision of becoming the best public academic health system in the nation. In 2017, one of the most significant updates was introduced, rebranding our organization from the University of Virginia Health System to UVA Health. Since then, efforts have been ongoing to convert all outdated brand materials, including signage, to properly reflect the continued progress that UVA Health has made over the past several years to become one integrated health system. Now, the next phase of our rebrand journey is coming to completion as we finish rebranding signage on Grounds.

“With this unified brand, we signal to the community that we are embracing the UVA Health identity, and we remind our teams that we are one organization united by the same mission to transform health and inspire hope for all Virginians and beyond,” says Lisa Badeau, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.

While most signage on Grounds has already been updated to reflect UVA Health branding, there are still many locations where University of Virginia Health System branding prominently remains — but not for long. Starting the first week in February, our Facilities team will be working in partnership with our suppliers to replace signs in the following locations:

These updates will continue throughout the month of February and will mark a significant step in our rebranding effort on Grounds. “There may still be some outdated signage in less visible spaces inside our Medical Center and clinics, or at off-Grounds locations, which will be addressed in later phases of updates,” says Leanne Walden, Associate Chief, Marketing, Brand and Provider Engagement.
