Dear UVA Health Team Members:

The UVA Health Leadership Institute (HLI) was founded nearly three years ago in service of our strategic goal to make UVA Health a best place to work and to cultivate the next generation of leaders from within our organization.

Today we are pleased to share HLI is ready to welcome its next class of emerging leaders to our signature cohort leadership program: applications for cohort five will open April 1. Aspiring leaders from across the health system are encouraged to apply, especially those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential, whether you currently hold a leadership position or are striving to attain one. Interested candidates should:

• Attend the virtual information session on Tuesday, April 7, 12:15-1 p.m.
  • Add to your calendar, or
  • Click to join via Zoom.
  • In-person attendance is strongly encouraged, but the session will be recorded for those who cannot attend.
• Review the FAQs on Connect to understand the application criteria, time, and other program requirements.
• Complete the application, essay, and submit a letter of recommendation via the HLI application portal between April 1-May 1. Selected candidates will be notified in July, and monthly cohort sessions will begin in October.  

Some of the benefits selected candidates will have the opportunity to experience include:

• Learning from experts on a variety of leadership topics, including healthcare-specific issues.
• Gaining skills that enable a pathway to future leadership opportunities at UVA Health.
• Building relationships with senior leaders and a cohort of peers from across the organization.
• Gaining greater exposure to health system operations.

The HLI was created in response to team member feedback, and the demand across UVA Health for leadership and professional development opportunities has been evident in the overwhelming interest in the HLI. We are thrilled to continue this journey of growth and development with and for our deserving UVA Health team members.
