Beyond the Badge: A Conversation With Elle Hogan
Dear Colleagues,
In this edition of Beyond the Badge, I had the pleasure of getting to know Elle Hogan, who manages our patient lodging and support services at UVA Health University Medical Center. Each month, as many as 2,000 patients and families rely on these services while traveling to Charlottesville for care. Elle and her team help ensure they have a welcoming, supportive place to stay during what can be a difficult time. I enjoyed hearing about the connections she makes with our patients and the sense of community her team helps create.
Elle also shared her passion for volunteering at The Arc of the Piedmont’s art studio, which has a wonderful partnership with UVA Health. The studio’s artists have rotating displays in the University Medical Center’s main cafeteria, with new artwork being installed this week! This was such a meaningful spotlight! I love working with Elle and the Hospitality House! It would have been great to share photos of the interior of the house and show its impact.
