Art Exhibit at UVA Health Promotes Emotional Healing from Breast Cancer
The ground floor of UVA Health’s Battle Building is hosting The Bodice Project, a not-for-profit sculptural exhibition promoting emotional healing for women and men facing breast cancer and life after treatment. Artists from the mid-Atlantic have created 21 torso sculptures, some of actual women and men who have undergone mastectomies or reconstructive surgery, to help raise awareness of the challenges of breast cancer.
The installation will be on display on the ground floor of the Battle Building through Jan. 3, 2022.
Find out more about the The Bodice Project, including more images of the art, on their website.

As any artist knows, art is where we begin to heal. In any form; dance, play, paint, sculpting, creating… it is where we express without words. Lovely. I hope we can do this for all our patients who survive and for their families when they are left behind.
