Aug. 30 | UVA to Test Emergency Notification System
To the University Community,
The University will test all components of its emergency notification system on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from approximately 10:50-11 a.m. When the test is over, an "all clear" will be issued. UVA’s siren and public address system will be included in the test.
All current students, faculty, staff, and UVA Health team members with a valid UVA email account will automatically receive an email alert. To receive text alerts, we strongly encourage you to add your mobile number to your UVA Alerts account. This will allow you to receive this important information if you should happen to be away from your computer or you do not otherwise have access to your email account. In an emergency situation, time is of the essence.

At 10:50 a.m., you will receive the test alert message through one or more of the channels below. No action is required on your part when you receive the test message:

- Text Message – Faculty, staff, and students who add mobile numbers to their UVA Alerts account will receive a text. Members of the public who sign up for UVA Alerts via SMS short code will receive a text.
