UVA Health’s BEE Award honors excellence among clinical support team members who work alongside our nursing teams to deliver expert, compassionate care. This special program symbolizes the relationship between nursing and other members of the care team — the same way bees and flowers depend on one another.

The 8 Central Team nominated Chadwick French, Director of Retail for Nutritional Services:

“Chadwick worked in the cafeteria on Christmas evening, serving Christmas meals to team members. He was seemingly the only team member handling the cafeteria during the night, yet he was courteous to each person's orders and special requests. He maintained his professionalism and served us all with a smile — really made us all feel welcomed and appreciated. We wanted him to know how much he was valued on the holiday — and every day!”
