‘Best I Have Ever Worked With!’: Seasoned Nurse Hails Patient Care Technician’s Outstanding Attitude
Every month, the Nursing Professional Governance Organization honors up to two UVA Health University Medical Center team members with a BEE (Being Excellent Everyday) Award.
UVA Health University Medical Center Associate Chief Nursing Officer Veronica Brill, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, and BEE Award Committee Vice Char Victoria Gibbons surprised Taylor Bream, Patient Care Technician (PCT), with an award.
Shannon Marie Elrod, RN, nominated Bream:
"I have been a nurse for 18 years — guess you can call me seasoned! I have worked with numerous PCTs over the years and this one absolutely stands out as the best I have ever worked with!
"Taylor has never showed any frustration or bad attitude in my presence or a patient's room. Every patient she and I have worked with has nothing but positive things to say about Taylor: 'Such as sweet girl, timely, and caring.'
"Taylor also shows a 'want to learn' attitude, takes initiative, and plans and thinks ahead — not just sits around awaiting a call bell. I always know my patients will not go without passionate, genuine, empathetic care when Taylor Bream is on my assignment. I highly recommend and nominate her for the BEE Award!"
