This year, Graduate Medical Education (GME) Trainee Appreciation week is Feb. 21-27. Residents and fellows at UVA Health help keep this place running. They return a phone call at 2 a.m., round before daylight to check on our patients, stay late to help with admissions, run to codes, write notes, place orders, and work long hours (with few days off). They do these things efficiently, enthusiastically, and while upholding the highest standards of our profession.
