Share Your Video Stories
Create your own Reflections and Hope video to share with our teams on Connect. For tips or to submit your video, email scb3u@hscmail.mcc.virginia.edu. The deadline to submit your video is Thursday, March 31.
Video guidelines:
- Recommended length is less than 2 minutes
- Submit a signed consent form along with your video
- Videos must not contain Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Videos will be reviewed for policy compliance
- UVA Strategic Marketing and Communications has final approval/release authority for the sharing of any video submitted.
Tips:
- Always shoot horizontally.
- Set smartphone video to 4K (or highest definition) at 30 fps.
- Have the strongest light source to be in front of your face.
- Stay away from bright windows or light sources behind your back.
- Use a wide frame (so editor has option of cropping in, if necessary).
- Find a quiet place to record – with little to no beeps, hums, and murmurs of background noise. Do a quick test to make sure audio is working.
- If possible, have a way to prop camera so you’re not holding it. Use a sturdy, even surface. Flip frame so you can see yourself. Again, light source in front of face. And check for minimal, non-distracting background.
- Check for patient information in exam rooms, hallways, etc. including charts on wall, folders on carts or tabletops. Photos, x-rays, computer screens, etc.
