Flu No More in ‘24 — 2024 Team Member Flu Vaccination Program

Dear Colleagues,

UVA Health is preparing for the arrival of flu season, and we’re pleased to announce this year’s flu vaccination initiative: Flu No More in ‘24.

Getting influenza/flu vaccination is the best way to prevent flu and its complications. The CDC recommends annual flu vaccination for everyone age six months or older. By getting vaccinated, you also are protecting people around you, including those who are more vulnerable to serious flu illness. Flu vaccines are free for all UVA Health team members, and vaccination is mandatory for all Tier 1 UVA Health team members. Please refer to Health System Policy OCH-002 to determine if you are a Tier 1 team member.

Team members have through October 31 to get their flu vaccination. Those who do not submit documentation of their flu vaccination to Employee Health by this deadline, or who do not have an approved exemption, will be subject to disciplinary action including an immediate 5-day suspension, followed by termination, in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
