LGBTQ+ Pride Month
To the UVA Health Community:
The nation recognizes June as Pride Month. This month is a time to acknowledge and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Equity, diversity, and inclusion are among our shared values at UVA Health — and community and health equity is one of the main pillars of our mission. We strongly support the LGBTQ+ community. We stand in solidarity because, by putting our patients at the center of everything we do, we provide compassionate and inclusive care regardless of their backgrounds, such as sexual orientation and gender identity. This support has made UVA Health a national leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare services, such as gender-affirming care, recognition that makes us exceptionally proud.
A reflection of our commitment to upholding the dignity of all people and celebrating our diversity, we invite you to join the UVA Health community in observing Pride Month. Take a moment to explore this excellent resource on healthcare and the LGBTQ+ community from the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library. Also, read UVA Health Update and Connect in the coming days to learn more about how you can participate in Pride Month events throughout June.
