Dear UVA Health Colleagues,

As shared during the June 9th town hall meeting, we are delighted to announce that UVA Health has officially kicked off its strategic planning process this month. We are extremely grateful to all who contributed to the exemplary and successful work of the Bridge Plan. And while the work of the Bridge Plan is concluding, many of its workstreams are complete, and some are transitioning to on-going operations with work continuing in three of the plan's seven focus areas: revenue cycle, patient progression and clinical documentation improvement (CDI). We'll look forward to sharing some of the specific workstream outcomes and next steps in forthcoming communication.

UVA Health has an extraordinary future ahead. The purpose of strategic planning is to help shape the long-term vision and direction of our organization and we have named the initiative "One Future Together." By leveraging the power of collaboration and the rich knowledge and expertise of over 14,000 members on our team, we have a unique opportunity to create a strategic plan that will provide a "north star" to guide and align the organization as one system. This is our time to envision One Future Together in an inclusive and integrated manner across all four of our missions: patient care, research, education, and community/health equity.

Strengthened by the steadfast commitment and incredible talent of our people, we will develop the strategic plan for UVA Health through a highly inclusive process. Activities throughout the remainder of June and the month of July will be focused on soliciting input and inspiration from across the entire organization as well as the communities we serve. 

We just launched onefuturetogether.uvahealth.com as the primary tool for UVA Health and community members to provide input to the strategic planning process and help shape the future direction of the organization. All are encouraged to post a comment. In addition, there will be many ways to contribute to the planning process, including virtual and in-person listening sessions that will soon be scheduled. Please email onefuturetogether@virginia.edu if you would like to participate in one of these sessions. We will also be inviting all 14,000+ team members to complete an online survey soliciting your input on a variety of strategic questions. All UVA Health team members will receive a survey invitation via email soon. We also invite you to share our strategic planning endeavor with friends and family. Feel free to copy and paste the following message across any of your social media platforms: "UVA Health wants to hear from you!  Help shape our future strategy by posting a comment to our strategic planning website at onefuturetogether.uvahealth.com.  We will complete our strategic planning effort by early 2022. The strategic plan that results from this process will set a 10-year vision for UVA Health!   

Please join us in planning our future across all four of our important missions. With your enthusiastic participation, we will further our journey toward enhancing our reputation as a nationally ranked academic medical center.
