18 Photos: UVA Children’s Arranges Pampering for Caregivers on Mother’s Day
In celebration of mother’s and mother-like figures, volunteers of the Patient and Family Centered Care Committee, a subcommittee of the Children’s Hospital Advisory Board, passed out 109 gift bags on Friday, May 12. These gift bags included self-care items, a delicious cookie donated by Panera Bread, and a hand/foot print template that says “Your love helps me bloom.”
On Monday, May 15, six stylists from Moxie Hair and Body Lounge donated their time and talents and provided haircuts and blowouts to moms and mom-like figures.
Amy Cesak, Manager, Patient and Family Centered Care, said, "This special event each year allows us to celebrate mother’s and mom-like figures in meaningful ways and encourages them to take time to care for themselves. We’re grateful for Moxie, Panera, and our Patient and Family Centered Care Committee, whose support allows us to continue to provide this event."
