Photos: UVA Children’s Arranged Pampering for Over 100 Caregivers on Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day was a couple weeks ago, but the female patient caregivers who participated in a day of pampering at UVA Children’s are still relishing.
Volunteer members from UVA Children’s Advisory Board and the Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC) Committee assembled and passed out over 100 Mother’s Day care packages, which featured pre-designed canvases for pediatric patients to complete and other care items. The next day, six stylists from Moxie Hair & Body Lounge donated their time and gave 27 haircuts and blowouts to caregivers.
Amy Cesak, Certified Child Life Specialist and coordinator for PFCC, summed up the celebrations in one word: “Incredible!”
Check out photos below of the tiniest patients making their Mother’s Day art and their guardians in the salon chairs.
What a wonderful thing to do.
Things like this make me smile so hard, tears roll out of my eyes. Thank you to EVERYONE who made this happen for these sweet babies and beautiful Mama’s.
