Popular Pooches Come Out to De-Stress Medical Students
On Nov. 17, University of Virginia Health System’s popular therapy dogs — friendly canines who visit with hospital patients — came out to de-stress UVA medical students at a study break dubbed the “5 Cs of Caring.” The Cs stand for cookies, canines, cider and cocoa, all of which were on hand for the students. And the last C? That stands for “contributions.” Event organizers also solicited donations of money and items for the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. (If you wish to join in the effort to benefit the local SPCA, you can purchase items from the group’s Amazon wish list here.)
Thank you to all the therapy dogs (and their owners) who came out to help our students. You can check out a video of the event below.

Awesome video!!! Thank you for creating it and sharing it! 🙂
How would we go about securing a therapy dog for my office? We’re interested in hosting a small morale/de-stress event for our department. Who should I get in touch with?
Thank you for the comment, Joshua. For therapy dog services, please reach out to Kimberly Garofalo in Volunteer Services.

What an incredible event for our UVA students! Dogs are so therapeutic to all of us and that was a creative way to support the students.
Great job!!
I absolutely love Bella and Jake! They are therapeutic for everyone. Thank you so much to all their owners for allowing us to have them here with not only patients but student and staff as well <3
