Update | Medical Center Market Review

Dear Medical Center Team Members,

Last week we were pleased to share an update on the $30 million commitment to improving compensation for team members, which included the 2% merit increase in paychecks last Friday as well as a market review program for much of our workforce. Today, we are writing to keep you informed as timelines are finalized for the first phase of our market review program.

Results from the most recent market study have been collected. Medical Center leadership and UVA HR will complete their review of this data and finalize decisions about compensation adjustments for this initial phase of the program within the next two weeks. During this process, we wanted team members to know that any pay adjustments approved in this process will be made according to the following timeline:

Once pay adjustment decisions are made, we will communicate first with the management team. Managers will have direct conversations with team members who will be receiving a pay adjustment. UVA Medical Center will also share a list of positions eligible for pay adjustments in the first phase of this program with all team members by early November.

Please note, an additional market review will be conducted in January 2022 to prepare for the next round of market pay adjustments planned for the first half of fiscal year 2023 (summer/fall 2022).
