At UVA Health, your convenience and safety are important. UVA Health Transit provides UtoCar for a safe ride after hours. With UtoCar, evening- and night-shift team members have access to on-demand shuttle service from Medical Center buildings to UVA-owned parking areas.

Below are the basic operations of the UtoCar program.

Operating Hours

• 6 p.m.-6 am, 7 days a week

Eligibility

• Eligible | UVA Health System employees only
• Not eligible | Students should use the Safe Ride program; patient, visitors, and guest should use one of the UVA Health Transit shuttles

• 11th Street Garage
• South Garage
• Stacey Hall lot
• Grove Street lot
• McKim Hall lots
• Lane Road spaces
• Crispell Drive spaces

No Drop offs

• Street locations
• JPJ Arena, Emmet/Ivy Garage, or Scott Stadium (team members must ride the University Transit bus or Medical Center shuttle)

Seating Capacity:

• Accommodates a total of 4 passengers; 3 passengers in the back seat and 1 passenger in the front

Please note that while UtoCar is an on-demand program, there are limitations. It does not provide quick access to/from UVA facilities and, during peak operating hours, delays in response times should be expected.
