UVA Children’s Patients Donate Stuffed Bears for Hospitalized Kids
Lofton and Thatcher Graves receive care at UVA Children’s for a rare genetic kidney disease called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, which makes it hard for their kidneys to filter blood. They started a nonprofit named KB Bears to buy stuffed bears for other UVA Children’s patients undergoing similar treatments.
The siblings dropped off hundreds of bears this week and promoted a fundraiser for their nonprofit – the Misty Mountain Music Festival – coming up Sept. 17-18.
Watch coverage of the event on NBC29.
