UVA Medical Center Compensation Program and Market Review Update
Dear Medical Center Team Members,
In October of last year, UVA Medical Center announced a commitment to increase compensation for our team members including Phase One market pay adjustments for much of our workforce and shared that UVA HR would also conduct an additional market review in January 2022. That review has been completed and refreshed data on the market position of all UVA Medical Center jobs has been made available to Medical Center leadership.
Today, we are pleased to share an update on the next phase of market compensation review that is currently underway. The investment of an additional $26 million for this phase of market adjustments increases the total fiscal year investment in compensation programs to more than $56 million. With this additional investment, 98% of our team members will receive a market pay adjustment this fiscal year. This current market review identified that approximately 3,475 jobs are expected to move to new pay ranges and 46% of our team members are expected to receive market pay adjustments in the Phase Two market review.
UVA HR is currently working with each chief to review the new market data and finalize decisions about market pay adjustments for Phase Two. The chief-level review and decision-making process will occur between Feb. 1 and March 31. Reviews will occur in partnership with UVA HR and will be finalized in phases through the end of March. Once pay adjustment decisions are made, we will communicate first with the management team. Managers will have direct conversations with team members who will be receiving a pay adjustment and confirm the effective date for any pay adjustments at that time.
