Volunteers Crafted and Stuffed Stockings for Patients Spending Christmas in the Hospital
As this year's holiday season approached, volunteers with Volunteer Services' Stitches for Stockings program spent countless house making over 450 Christmas stockings for adult patients at University Hospital.
"The primary crafters this year are Charles and Peggy Anderson who have done over 300 of that total" said LaDelle Gay, Volunteer Coordinator. "They are using the white side of the OR blue wrap, which is recycled through our MERCI program. Then, they add cuffs and toes from donated Christmas fabric. It’s an amazing recycling endeavor. Our very special Ruth Hogg, mother of Vickie Marsh, has made over 60, completely stitched by hand and filled with love."
Other volunteers and team members shopped for items to help fill the stockings.
Stockings will be delivered to patients in time for Christmas!
