Welcome, Teams! Move-Ins Are Underway at University Hospital Expansion

For years we’ve watched the evolution of the University Hospital Expansion (UHE) project. Now, construction is nearing completion and teams are moving into the new space.

Who’s Moved in So Far?
In June, Surgical Services IT, Clinical Engineering’s biomedical shop, and the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) team moved into the ground floor. They’ll soon have many neighbors, as indicated by the occupancy calendar below. Please note that these dates may change depending upon various readiness factors.

August
Ground Floor | Pharmacy IT

October
First Floor | Emergency Department (Patient 1 will be seen October 15!)

November
Ground Floor | Health System Physical Plant administrative offices
Second Floor | Interventional Cardiology CTU (pre- and post-surgery beds only)

December
Ground Floor | Clinical Engineering administrative offices

2020
January
Second Floor | Interventional Radiology (pre- and post-surgery beds), Interventional Radiology labs, Interventional Cardiology labs (cath labs), four operating rooms

Mid-April
Third Floor | Musculoskeletal and medical co-management

Early June
Fourth Floor | Thoracic-Cardiovascular ICU

Late June
Fifth Floor | Transplant

What Will Still Be Unoccupied After June 2020?

Floors 6, 7, and 8 are shelled for future use, likely as patient rooms.
Level 9 consists of mechanical spaces.
Level 10 will serve as a helipad and work areas for the MEDCOM team.
