Update #2: Winter Storm Anticipated on Friday Evening Into Saturday
(Posted Friday, Feb. 16 2:17 p.m.)
UVA Health Team Members,
Following our message yesterday evening, the National Weather Service increased the likelihood of winter weather impacting our operating area. Beginning this evening and into Saturday morning, the forecast is now calling for low temperatures with snow accumulations approximately 1-2 inches for the Charlottesville area and up to 2-5 inches predicted to the West and North. At this time, the City of Charlottesville is under a winter weather advisory.
Given this change in the forecast, our Emergency Management team will be meeting again this afternoon to determine any impacts to our operations, including our clinic schedules for Saturday. To get real-time updates on clinic operations, please visit uvahealth.com/status. In the meantime, if you are scheduled to work on Saturday morning, please keep the weather in mind before making your commute, as there may be snow and ice accumulations on the roadways.
UVA Health’s Emergency Management team will continue to monitor conditions and will distribute a communication this evening if we experience a change in operations due to the forecast.
