Safety
- Develop an Emergency Plan and maintain an Emergency Kit (“Go-Kit”).
- Remember that roads and walkways can never be completely cleared of slick spots. Watch out for slips, trips, and falls.
- Don’t forget your winter weather attire: boots, gloves, and a hat. Dressing in layers will also help retain heat.
- Plan ahead and add extra time for safe travel. View road conditions from the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Virginia 511 site and mobile app.
- UVA Medical Center makes its decisions based on the forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS).
If conditions change, we will update this information. Some off-site locations may have different schedules; contact your manager for instructions. For more information and updates, please check the Medical Center Status Board at www.uvahealth.com/weather.
