UVA Children’s Is Ranked No. 1 in Virginia

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce that UVA Children's is ranked as the No. 1 children's hospital in Virginia by U.S. News & World Report in the publication's 2021-22 "Best Children's Hospitals" guide. This is the first year U.S. News has reported a state-by-state ranking of the nation's best children's hospitals. We are also extraordinarily proud to have five specialties ranked among the top 50 in the nation:

U.S. News rankings seek to identify hospitals providing the highest-quality care for children who present with the most serious or complicated medical conditions. Measures include patient outcomes, the use of best practices to enhance patient safety, availability of specialized programs as well as a national survey of pediatric specialists. These rankings are an outstanding accomplishment for our UVA Children's team, who are committed to providing the best care to children across the Commonwealth and region.

Regardless of where you work at UVA Health, we should be so proud of this national recognition, as it reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the highest-quality care for all of our patients regardless of their age. Please join us in congratulating our UVA Children's team for their exceptional care to children and families throughout Virginia and beyond.
