Family Medicine Earns Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition for 6th Consecutive Time

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recently recognized UVA Primary and Specialty Care Pantops as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) for the first time. NCQA also renewed the Department of Family Medicine’s PCMH recognitions for four other practices:

Li Li, MD, PhD, MPH

“We recognize the challenges of balancing important PCMH work while also providing access to care during a pandemic,” said Becky Compton, Nurse Practitioner, Co-Medical Director, Department of Family Medicine. “This team once again pulled through with creative partnerships and went above and beyond to ensure our success. Our team is truly amazing, and our patients are the ones who benefit from this work.”

The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home standards emphasize the use of systematic, patient-centered, coordinated care that supports access, communication, and patient involvement.

Li Li, MD, Department Chair, is focused on advancing the PCMH model and supporting these efforts through population management and continuous quality improvement to meet patient care needs, said Compton.

UVA Family Medicine received the PCHM Recognition for the first time in 2015 and has retained recognition through 2022.

Thank you to Family Medicine for putting the patient at the center of all you do!
