Joint Commission Recertifies UVA Transitional Care Hospital With Gold Seal of Approval for Respiratory Failure Care

UVA’s Transitional Care Hospital (TCH), a long-term acute care facility, has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® recertification for Respiratory Failure care. A symbol of quality, the Gold Seal of Approval signifies an organization's commitment to providing safe and effective patient care. 

To achieve recertification, the TCH underwent a rigorous review by Joint Commission experts who evaluated its compliance with national disease-specific care standards and with respiratory failure-specific requirements. Experts also assessed clinical practice guidelines and performance measures.
