‘I Got It!’: Colleagues Hail UVA Health HUC for Can-Do Attitude

Learn how Lacey Greer, Health Unit Coordinator, helps Acute Cardiology stay ahead.

Every month, the Nursing Professional Governance Organization (NPGO) honors up to two UVA Health University Medical Center team members with a BEE (Being Excellent Everyday) Award.

Associate Chief Nursing Officer Veronica Brill, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, and Jenny Ernest, Nursing Governance Coordinator, Nursing Professional Governance Office, surprised Lacey Greer, Health Unit Coordinator, Acute Cardiology, with the award.

From Acute Cardiology — Kaleb Shull, RN; Mackenzie Johnson, BSN, RN, PCCN, CCRN-K; and Sarah Sanseviro, Patient Care Technician — nominated Greer:

"Lacey operates like an executive assistant to each RN. She carefully listens for tasks that she could handle as the only non-clinical team member on the unit working weekends.

"And in most instances, we don't request to delegate these tasks to her — she willingly volunteers! For example, In the course of only one day:

These examples are not unique to that day. Lacey is a valuable member of our weekend team!"
