Celebrating 2025 Healthcare Quality Week
UVA Health is marking Healthcare Quality Week, Oct. 19-25 — dedicated to recognizing healthcare professionals, celebrating accomplishments in quality improvement, and focusing on enhancing patient safety and outcomes through tools, strategies, and a culture of excellence.
This year’s theme — from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) — is Celebrating Our Impact | Fueling Our Future.
NAHQ established Healthcare Quality Week in 1985 to be observed annually in the third week of October. The association is offering free sessions every day of Healthcare Quality Week on topics ranging from elevating quality, emerging trends, and building consistency — to CMS priorities and creating measurable value.
You also can help spread the word about Healthcare Quality Week with free NAHQ resources and here at UVA Health, we're asking managers to download and share with your team members these key messages on the topics listed below, each day of this Healthcare Quality Week:
- Monday, Oct. 20: Hand Hygiene
- Tuesday, Oct. 21: Falls, HAPI (hospital-acquired pressure injury)
- Wednesday, October. 22: CAUTI (catheter-associated urinary tract infection) and CLABSI (central line-associated bloodstream Infection)
- Thursday, Oct. 23: TMI (team member injury)
- Friday, Oct. 24: Mortality
Thank you to all UVA Health team members who support our strategic plan initiative of superior quality, patient safety, and outcomes as we celebrate healthcare quality this week — and year-round.
