Transplant Team Creates a Garden of Pinwheels to Honor Those Who Have Donated Life
Team members from the UVA Health Charles O. Strickler Transplant Center and LifeNet Health recently came together to install the 6th Annual Pinwheel Garden in front of the West Complex in honor of Donate Life Month.
“Each pinwheel in this garden represents a life saved, transformed, or enhanced by the selfless gifts of organ, eye, and tissue donors, including those who give through living donation,” says Amy Schmidt-Morris, Senior Advisor, Special Projects.
“We hope visitors pause here to remember, celebrate, and feel gratitude — not only for those who give the gift of life but also for the dedicated transplant teams who make these miracles possible every day.”
Register to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor through Donate Life Virginia. The garden will be on display through April 30.
