Dear Colleagues: 

I am thrilled to share some exciting news as we continue to build the team that will shape UVA Health's future. Today, I am pleased to announce the hiring of two outstanding leaders who will play pivotal roles in advancing our finance and supply chain transformation: Lauren Kincade as our Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis, and Steve Ellis as our Chief Supply Chain Officer. 

As shared last fall, these two roles are central to our vision of becoming a more unified, efficient, and forward-thinking health system. I could not be more excited about the expertise and energy Lauren and Steve will bring to UVA Health, leading and guiding the strong teams already in place for both Financial Analysis and Planning and Supply Chain operations. 

Welcoming Lauren Kincade – Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis 

Lauren joins us with more than 15 years of experience leading finance, accounting, and enterprise transformation across complex healthcare organizations. She comes to us most recently from Luminis Health in Annapolis, Maryland, where she served as Vice President of Finance Operations and Controller, overseeing accounting, treasury, payroll, accounts payable, capital projects, and financing activities. 

Prior to Luminis, Lauren held a senior leadership role at Sentara Health, where she led finance and accounting teams through multiple enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. She began her career in public accounting with PwC and KPMG, building deep expertise in healthcare systems, universities, and nonprofits. Lauren holds a BS in Accounting from Villanova University, an MBA from William & Mary, and is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 

In her new role, Lauren will provide focused leadership in centralizing and streamlining core financial operations across UVA Health — including financial planning and analysis, reporting, decision support, cost accounting, and shared services. She will also be a critical partner in our multi-year Workday Finance implementation. Lauren begins her role with UVA Health on July 6. 

Welcoming Steve Ellis – Chief Supply Chain Officer 

Steve brings more than 30 years of supply chain leadership across large integrated health systems, academic medical centers, and public healthcare organizations. He is a seasoned leader and will be a wonderful addition to our team. 

Prior to joining UVA Health, Steve served as Vice President of Supply Chain for Franciscan Alliance, a 12-hospital integrated delivery network spanning Indiana and Illinois, where he led enterprise supply chain strategy, sourcing operations, contracting, and physician alignment initiatives. During his tenure, Steve was recognized with Health Trust's 2023 Outstanding Member Award for collaborative leadership and measurable value delivery. 

Before that, Steve spent nearly a decade as Chief Supply Chain Officer at Palomar Health — the largest public healthcare district in California — where he directed supply chain operations and led a large-scale capital procurement effort in support of a hospital construction project, resulting in significant savings reinvested into operations and patient care through strategic sourcing and standardization. 

As our systemwide Chief Supply Chain Officer, Steve will build and lead an enterprise supply chain organization that drives operational excellence, fiscal stewardship, and value-driven partnerships across all of UVA Health. Steve begins his role with UVA Health June 8. 

Please join me in welcoming Lauren and Steve to UVA Health. In true UVA Health spirit, both will hit the ground running upon their arrival, and I look forward to introducing them to many of you in the weeks ahead.
