As part of Health Information Technology (HIT)’s strategic focus on providing you with the modern tools that our work demands, UVA Health is transitioning to a new platform for accessing applications (including Epic) remotely. 

What is changing? 

• The current UVA Health Apps Portal (“Apps Portal” or “Portal”) will be replaced with new technology and renamed the UVA Health Citrix Applications Portal (“Citrix Portal”). The new site is live and located here: https://remoteapps.uvahealth.virginia.edu.
• Users of the new Citrix Portal will notice a slightly modified design (see screenshot of new interface below) and a new web address (URL), but the way you access apps remotely (including Epic) will remain the same. 
• Remote desktop access also will remain available.
• The new Citrix Portal launched July 15. To support a smooth transition, the original Apps Portal will be accessible until Aug. 15, after which users will be redirected to the new portal.

Why are we changing? 

• The new Citrix Portal platform will be more secure, streamlined, and deliver more consistent connectivity than our current Apps Portal. 

Who is impacted? 

• All users who access UVA Health applications (including Epic) remotely.

• Bookmark the new portal URL: https://remoteapps.uvahealth.virginia.edu.
