More than 150 community members visited the inaugural Health and Wellness Expo hosted by UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center and community partners at the Culpeper County Parks and Recreation Fieldhouse.

The free event brought together local healthcare providers, community organizations, and public safety agencies to connect residents with resources, health screenings, education and wellness information — all in one convenient location.

“It's wonderful to see so many of our community partners come together with our physicians, nurses, and team members to give their time and expertise to help improve the health and wellbeing of our neighbors,” says Jeff Say, Program Manager of Community Engagement, UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center. “The success of this first Health and Wellness Expo is a reflection of what we can accomplish when we work together as a community.”

Attendees accessed to free A1C and blood pressure screenings, mental health screenings, balance assessments, and flu shots, along with health education and information about services available throughout the community.

UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center team members from various areas were on hand including Case Management, Pediatrics, Cultural Ambassadors, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Cancer Care, Telehealth, Family Medicine, Radiology, OB/GYN, Financial Assistance, and Workforce Development. Team members requested information, chatted with neighbors, answered questions, and provided health checks.

The expo also highlighted strong community partnerships. Participating organizations included:

Community members also enjoyed healthy food demonstrations and nutritious food and drink options, providing practical ideas for making healthier choices at home. Food trucks were on hand for snacks during the event.
