As we look ahead to the holidays, we want to celebrate the hope you bring to our patients, our teams, and one another every single day. This year, we’re creating a special video that brings together the moments, stories, and motivations that keep hope alive across UVA Health — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

By Dec. 8, we invite you and your teams to record a 10-second video answering one of the following questions:

• How did you give someone hope this year?
• What brings you hope each day?
• What new possibility do you hope for next year?

To spark ideas: if answering, “What brings you hope each day?” you might share a colleague who inspires you, a moment that lifted your spirits, or something that reminds you why your work matters.

Tips for Recording

To help your video shine, here are a few simple guidelines:

• No need to introduce yourself — just jump right in.
• Film horizontally (sideways), not vertically.
• Keep the camera steady by propping it up or asking a friend to help.
• Speak directly to the camera.
• If filming at work, ensure there is no PHI (protected health information) visible.
• Make sure the strongest light source is in front of you, not behind you.
• Have fun with it — props like holiday hats, scarves, old photos, or toys are welcome!
