UVA Health Acquires State Farm Site on Pantops

State Farm property

To expand access to outpatient care in Central Virginia while also freeing up additional capacity at University Hospital to accommodate inpatient care, UVA Health has acquired the approximately 365,000-square-foot former State Farm operations center in the Pantops area of Albemarle County.

Located at 1500 State Farm Blvd., the 55-acre property is near U.S. 250 and Interstate 64 and comes with more than 1,200 surface parking spaces, making it a convenient location for patients and team members. State Farm stopped using the facility entirely in 2020 when it shifted employees to remote work. New AI-Assisted Technology Integration Supports Growth of Virtual Primary Care On Demand

UVA Health Virtual Primary Care On Demand continues to expand access to convenient virtual care across Virginia, with more than 4,000 visits completed since it launched in May 2026. The service has expanded to include pediatric care for patients ages 5 and older and psychiatric support, broadening access to care for patients across the Commonwealth.

To support this growth, UVA Health is partnering with K Health to implement AI-assisted patient intake and visit preparation technology specifically for Virtual Primary Care On Demand visits, starting Nov. 2. Integrated into the Epic workflow for these visits, the technology will help gather and organize relevant patient information before appointments, streamline administrative tasks, and allow providers to focus more time on patient care. The partnership is expected to support growth to more than 100 visits per day, with the potential to reach approximately 300 patients per day by year three. The service offers flexible access to UVA Health providers for a range of primary and immediate care needs, including evenings and weekends. Learn more and schedule on uvahealth.com.
