Dear Colleagues, 

I’m pleased to share the latest episode of Beyond the Badge, our video series highlighting the people who make UVA Health such a remarkable place.

In this episode, I talk with Taralyn Wear, nurse manager of University Medical Center's Transplant Unit. Taralyn shares how her team helps guide transplant patients through every stage of their journey, connecting the inpatient and outpatient experience to provide compassionate care. We also talk about her life outside of work and her commitment to supporting children and families through foster care awareness.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to watch the conversation. Taralyn's story is a wonderful reminder that the extraordinary care we provide is made possible by extraordinary people throughout our organization.

As we head into the Independence Day weekend, I also want to thank each of you for everything you do for our patients, students, communities, and one another. For those who are able to take time away, I hope you have the opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.
