UVA Health will soon launch Care Everywhere Referral Management (CERM), Epic’s integrated solution for referrals between Epic organizations. CERM was originally scheduled to go live in April. Feedback from users across the organization at that time led the project team to pause go-live. Working closely with operational leaders and stakeholders from University Medical Center, UVA Community Health, UPG, and the Epic application team, the project team has worked through questions and concerns to refine referral workflows, operational processes, and training. Ongoing collaboration through go-live will ensure the successful launch of this valuable initiative. 

This enhancement represents a meaningful step in strengthening referral management across UVA Health and other Epic sites using CERM — shifting from manual processes to a fully integrated digital experience that streamlines referral capture, routing, and timeliness, reduces leakage, and improves conversion of existing demand — while creating a more seamless pathway for clinicians and patients. To prepare for this launch, Access/Scheduling staff will be registered by their manager to complete required training in the Learning Management System (Oracle or Workday) beginning Aug. 11, 2026.
