Picking up on recent discussions about benefits for team members, following are some helpful things to know about UVA Pharmacy Services, to answer some questions, and to make managing medication needs more convenient and budget-friendly:

• Beginning Jan. 1, UVA Health Plan members will receive a $3 discount on each prescription copay when using a UVA Pharmacy.
• All UVA Pharmacies are in-network and preferred for the UVA Health Plan in 2022 (Emily Couric Pharmacy is in-network but is only for Cancer Center patients).
• UVA Pharmacy Services offers:
  • One-on-one counseling to manage medications and avoid harmful side effects
  • Drug discount program
  • Financial assistance programs to help cover the cost of medications
  • Education on using injectable medications, inhalers, and blood glucose monitors
  • Support for medicines needing prior authorization or not covered by insurance
  • Interpretation services for any language
• With seven retail locations, one specialty pharmacy, and a free home-delivery service, there are many convenient options for team members to fill and manage their medication needs.
• UVA Pharmacy Lee Street is the only 24/7/365 community pharmacy within 50 miles.
• Our newest location inside the UVA Orthopedic Center opens summer 2022.
• UVA Student Health Pharmacy relocated to the new UVA Student Health and Wellness building on Brandon Avenue this fall.
• There are plans to open a new pharmacy in Nellysford (next to UVA Family Medicine) improving our ability to serve this community.
• UVA Bookstore Pharmacy and UVA Augusta Pharmacy are relocating this year to better serve patients.
